Early in the movie Wall Street, Michael Douglas delivers one of Gordon Gekko’s oft-quoted lines to someone on the other end of the phone as a starstruck Charlie Sheen looks on: “Lunch?! Lunch is for wimps!” (We wouldn’t go nearly that harsh; who doesn’t look forward to a good grilled cheese and cup of tomato soup to break up the day?) Cologne-based designer Christoph Gey, no wimp himself, sometimes skips lunch in favor of experimenting with type compositions for a project he calls Type Hype. Have a look! “All the artwork is done with paper and pencil to keep a rough and raw feeling,” he says.
